Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box chocolate cake mix (15.25 oz)
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, water, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined and smooth.
- Pour the cake batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- In another bowl, beat together the peanut butter, cream cheese, and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Drop spoonfuls of the peanut butter mixture over the cake batter. Use a knife or a skewer to swirl the peanut butter mixture into the cake batter, creating a marbled effect.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly gooey.
- Allow the cake to cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. For an extra treat, serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try adding a tablespoon of instant coffee granules to the cake batter.
- You can substitute the chocolate cake mix with a gluten-free version for a gluten-free option.
