Description
Chocolate Cobbler is an irresistibly gooey dessert that combines a rich chocolate flavor with a soft, cake-like texture, perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 3/4 cups hot water
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until the batter is smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix the brown sugar and hot water together until the sugar is dissolved. Slowly pour this mixture over the batter in the baking dish. Do not stir.
- If using, sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the top is set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean. The cobbler will be soft and gooey underneath.
- Allow to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add a teaspoon of instant coffee granules to the batter.
- Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
