Description
A delicious and creamy Chocolate Cherry Cream Pie that combines rich chocolate and sweet cherry flavors in a delightful dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups chocolate cookie crumbs
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup cherry pie filling
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a medium bowl, combine chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter. Mix until well combined. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie pan. Bake for 8-10 minutes, then remove from the oven and let cool completely.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. Set aside.
- In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the melted chocolate, mixing until fully combined.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture until no streaks remain.
- Pour half of the chocolate cream mixture into the cooled pie crust. Spread half of the cherry pie filling over the chocolate layer. Repeat with the remaining chocolate cream and cherry filling.
- Cover the pie with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
- Before serving, garnish with additional whipped cream and chocolate shavings, if desired.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.
- Add a layer of crushed nuts or a sprinkle of sea salt on top for added texture and flavor.
