Description
Chili Salmon with Browned Butter is a flavorful dish featuring perfectly baked salmon fillets seasoned with a blend of spices and topped with rich, nutty browned butter.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 (6-ounce) salmon fillets
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
- In a small bowl, combine the chili powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Rub the olive oil over the fillets, then sprinkle the spice mixture evenly on both sides of the salmon.
- Place the seasoned salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet, skin-side down. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- While the salmon is baking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Continue cooking, stirring frequently, until the butter turns a golden brown color and has a nutty aroma, about 5-7 minutes. Be careful not to burn it.
- Remove the browned butter from heat and stir in the lemon juice.
- Once the salmon is done, drizzle the browned butter over the fillets and garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the spice mixture.
- Serve the salmon over a bed of quinoa or alongside roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
