Description

Chili Salmon with Browned Butter is a flavorful dish featuring perfectly baked salmon fillets seasoned with a blend of spices and topped with rich, nutty browned butter.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (6-ounce) salmon fillets
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the chili powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  3. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Rub the olive oil over the fillets, then sprinkle the spice mixture evenly on both sides of the salmon.
  4. Place the seasoned salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet, skin-side down. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  5. While the salmon is baking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Continue cooking, stirring frequently, until the butter turns a golden brown color and has a nutty aroma, about 5-7 minutes. Be careful not to burn it.
  6. Remove the browned butter from heat and stir in the lemon juice.
  7. Once the salmon is done, drizzle the browned butter over the fillets and garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the spice mixture.
  • Serve the salmon over a bed of quinoa or alongside roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
