Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (for sauce)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (for sauce)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (for sauce)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (for sauce)
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill or parsley, chopped (optional, for sauce)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, black pepper, and egg. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into oval-shaped kofta (about 2-3 inches long). You should have about 12 kofta.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the kofta in batches, cooking for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
- While the kofta is cooking, prepare the garlic yogurt sauce. In a small bowl, mix together the Greek yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and dill or parsley if using.
- Serve the kofta hot with a generous drizzle of garlic yogurt sauce on top.
Notes
- For added flavor, try mixing in some grated zucchini or carrot into the kofta mixture.
- Serve the kofta with pita bread and a side salad for a complete meal.
- If you prefer a spicier kick, add some red pepper flakes to the kofta mixture or serve with a spicy sauce.
