Description

A delicious and flavorful Chicken Kofta served with a creamy garlic yogurt sauce, perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (for sauce)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (for sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (for sauce)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (for sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill or parsley, chopped (optional, for sauce)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, black pepper, and egg. Mix until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into oval-shaped kofta (about 2-3 inches long). You should have about 12 kofta.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the kofta in batches, cooking for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
  4. While the kofta is cooking, prepare the garlic yogurt sauce. In a small bowl, mix together the Greek yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and dill or parsley if using.
  5. Serve the kofta hot with a generous drizzle of garlic yogurt sauce on top.

Notes

  • For added flavor, try mixing in some grated zucchini or carrot into the kofta mixture.
  • Serve the kofta with pita bread and a side salad for a complete meal.
  • If you prefer a spicier kick, add some red pepper flakes to the kofta mixture or serve with a spicy sauce.
