Description

Cherry Coconut Magic Bars are a delightful dessert combining the flavors of cherry, coconut, and chocolate in a sweet, layered treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, shredded coconut, and melted butter. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated.
  3. Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to create an even layer.
  4. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crust, spreading it out with a spatula.
  5. Spoon the cherry pie filling over the condensed milk layer, spreading it gently to cover as much of the surface as possible.
  6. Sprinkle the chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using) evenly over the cherry layer.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the chocolate is melted.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Once cooled, cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • For a tropical twist, substitute the cherry pie filling with pineapple or mango filling.
  • Add a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking for a sweet and salty flavor contrast.
