Description
Cherry Coconut Magic Bars are a delightful dessert combining the flavors of cherry, coconut, and chocolate in a sweet, layered treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup cherry pie filling
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, shredded coconut, and melted butter. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated.
- Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to create an even layer.
- Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crust, spreading it out with a spatula.
- Spoon the cherry pie filling over the condensed milk layer, spreading it gently to cover as much of the surface as possible.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using) evenly over the cherry layer.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the chocolate is melted.
- Remove from the oven and let cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Once cooled, cut into squares and serve.
Notes
- For a tropical twist, substitute the cherry pie filling with pineapple or mango filling.
- Add a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking for a sweet and salty flavor contrast.
