Description
A delicious and easy-to-make Cherry Chocolate Dip that combines fresh or frozen cherries with melted chocolate for a delightful treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for a smoother dip)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- If using fresh cherries, wash and pit them. If using frozen cherries, allow them to thaw and drain excess liquid.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using). Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and salt until well combined.
- Add the cherries to the melted chocolate and gently fold until they are fully coated.
- Transfer the chocolate-covered cherries to a serving dish. If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts on top for added crunch.
- Allow the dip to cool slightly before serving. For a thicker consistency, refrigerate for about 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a fun twist, try using white chocolate instead of semi-sweet chocolate for a different flavor profile.
- Serve with graham crackers, pretzels, or fruit slices for dipping to add variety to your dessert platter.
