- 8 slices of thick-cut bread (Texas toast or similar)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a medium bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, dried parsley, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over one side of each slice of bread.
- Place the slices butter-side up on a baking sheet.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese generously over each slice of bread, followed by a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes if using.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the bread are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a herbaceous twist, add fresh chopped basil or oregano to the garlic butter mixture.
- To make it a complete meal, top the cheesy toast with sliced tomatoes or cooked bacon before baking.
