Description

Cheesy Mashed Potato Puffs are a delicious and crispy snack made from creamy mashed potatoes and cheese, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes (prepared, cooled)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • Cooking spray or olive oil for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet with cooking spray or olive oil.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, sour cream, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Using a spoon or your hands, form the potato mixture into small balls or puffs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
  4. Roll each puff in breadcrumbs to coat evenly, then place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper or some chopped jalapeños to the potato mixture.
  • Substitute the cheddar cheese with mozzarella or pepper jack for a different flavor profile.
