Description

Deliciously fluffy Cheddar Bay Biscuits, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Add the cubed cold butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
  5. Pour in the milk and mix just until combined. Do not overmix; the dough should be slightly lumpy.
  6. Using a spoon or ice cream scoop, drop heaping tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.
  8. While the biscuits are baking, mix the melted butter, parsley flakes, garlic powder, and salt in a small bowl.
  9. Once the biscuits are out of the oven, brush the tops with the garlic butter mixture.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a cheesy twist, add an extra 1/2 cup of shredded cheese into the dough.
  • If you prefer a spicier kick, mix in some chopped jalapeños or crushed red pepper flakes.
