Description
Deliciously fluffy Cheddar Bay Biscuits, perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and cayenne pepper.
- Add the cubed cold butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
- Pour in the milk and mix just until combined. Do not overmix; the dough should be slightly lumpy.
- Using a spoon or ice cream scoop, drop heaping tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.
- While the biscuits are baking, mix the melted butter, parsley flakes, garlic powder, and salt in a small bowl.
- Once the biscuits are out of the oven, brush the tops with the garlic butter mixture.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- For a cheesy twist, add an extra 1/2 cup of shredded cheese into the dough.
- If you prefer a spicier kick, mix in some chopped jalapeños or crushed red pepper flakes.
