Description

A delightful dessert featuring layers of rich brownie, creamy cheesecake, and luscious caramel, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (18.3 oz) brownie mix
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the brownie mix, vegetable oil, eggs, and water. Mix until just combined, then pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  3. Bake according to package instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the brownies cool completely.
  4. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  5. Gently fold in the whipped topping until fully incorporated, creating a creamy cheesecake layer.
  6. Once the brownies are cooled, cut them into bite-sized squares.
  7. In a large trifle dish or individual cups, layer the ingredients starting with a layer of brownie squares, followed by a layer of the cheesecake mixture, a drizzle of caramel sauce, and a sprinkle of chocolate chips and nuts if using. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of the cheesecake mixture on top.
  8. Drizzle additional caramel sauce over the top and sprinkle with extra chocolate chips and nuts if desired.
  9. Cover the trifle and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, add a layer of chocolate ganache between the layers.
  • Substitute the caramel sauce with chocolate sauce for a different twist, or use a combination of both for a decadent treat.
