Description
A delightful dessert featuring layers of rich brownie, creamy cheesecake, and luscious caramel, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box (18.3 oz) brownie mix
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup water
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the brownie mix, vegetable oil, eggs, and water. Mix until just combined, then pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake according to package instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the brownies cool completely.
- In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Gently fold in the whipped topping until fully incorporated, creating a creamy cheesecake layer.
- Once the brownies are cooled, cut them into bite-sized squares.
- In a large trifle dish or individual cups, layer the ingredients starting with a layer of brownie squares, followed by a layer of the cheesecake mixture, a drizzle of caramel sauce, and a sprinkle of chocolate chips and nuts if using. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of the cheesecake mixture on top.
- Drizzle additional caramel sauce over the top and sprinkle with extra chocolate chips and nuts if desired.
- Cover the trifle and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add a layer of chocolate ganache between the layers.
- Substitute the caramel sauce with chocolate sauce for a different twist, or use a combination of both for a decadent treat.
