Description
A delightful and easy dessert that combines the flavors of caramel and apple in a creamy eclair cake.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 (3.4 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping, thawed
- 1 (16 oz) package graham crackers
- 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 1 cup caramel sauce, plus extra for drizzling
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk and instant vanilla pudding mix until well combined. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it thickens.
- Gently fold in the whipped topping until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, combine the diced apples, caramel sauce, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Mix until the apples are well coated.
- In a 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half of the graham crackers on the bottom.
- Spread half of the pudding mixture over the graham crackers, followed by half of the apple mixture.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining graham crackers, pudding mixture, and apple mixture.
- If using, sprinkle the chopped nuts on top.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Before serving, drizzle additional caramel sauce over the top for garnish.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try using a flavored pudding mix, such as butterscotch or caramel.
- You can also substitute the apples with pears or peaches for a different fruit twist.
