Description

Buffalo Shrimp is a crispy and spicy delight, perfect for a party or a delicious appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish (optional)
  • Celery sticks, for serving (optional)
  • Blue cheese or ranch dressing, for dipping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the eggs until well beaten.
  4. Place the breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  5. Dip each shrimp first into the flour mixture, shaking off any excess, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. Place the breaded shrimp on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake the shrimp in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  7. While the shrimp are baking, mix the buffalo sauce and melted butter in a large bowl.
  8. Once the shrimp are done, remove them from the oven and immediately toss them in the buffalo sauce mixture until well coated.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions, alongside celery sticks and your choice of blue cheese or ranch dressing for dipping.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add more cayenne pepper to the flour mixture or use a hotter buffalo sauce.
  • To make this dish gluten-free, substitute the all-purpose flour and breadcrumbs with gluten-free alternatives.
