Description

A delightful dessert recipe combining layers of yellow cake, vanilla pudding, whipped cream, and chocolate ganache, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups vanilla pudding (prepared, store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix (plus ingredients needed to prepare)
  • 1 cup chocolate ganache (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup sliced strawberries (optional for garnish)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the yellow cake mix according to package instructions and bake in a 9×13 inch pan. Allow it to cool completely.
  2. Once the cake is cool, cut it into 1-inch cubes.
  3. In a medium bowl, whip the heavy cream with the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  4. In a large trifle dish or individual serving cups, layer half of the cake cubes at the bottom.
  5. Spoon half of the prepared vanilla pudding over the cake cubes, followed by half of the whipped cream.
  6. Drizzle half of the chocolate ganache over the whipped cream layer.
  7. Repeat the layers with the remaining cake cubes, vanilla pudding, whipped cream, and chocolate ganache.
  8. If desired, top with sliced strawberries and chopped nuts for garnish.
  9. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, use sugar-free pudding and whipped topping.
  • Add a layer of fresh fruit, such as bananas or blueberries, for added flavor and texture.
