- 2 (6-ounce) salmon fillets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon honey
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.
- In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
- Rub the olive oil over both sides of the salmon fillets, then coat them evenly with the spice mixture.
- Place the salmon fillets on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the salmon is cooked through and has a blackened crust.
- While the salmon is cooking, prepare the creamy Dijon sauce by whisking together the sour cream, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and honey in a small bowl until smooth.
- Once the salmon is done, remove it from the heat and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
- Serve the blackened salmon with a generous drizzle of the creamy Dijon sauce on top.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, increase the cayenne pepper to 1 1/2 teaspoons.
