Description
Delicious and soft banana bread cinnamon rolls topped with cream cheese frosting.
Ingredients

- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
For the cream cheese frosting:
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (as needed for consistency)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
- Spread melted butter over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon and chopped nuts (if using) evenly on top.
- Starting from one edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Slice the log into 12 equal pieces.
- Place the rolls in the prepared baking dish, leaving a little space between each roll.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
- While the rolls are baking, prepare the cream cheese frosting by beating together the cream cheese, softened butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth and creamy. Adjust the milk for desired consistency.
- Once the rolls are done baking, let them cool for about 10 minutes before drizzling with cream cheese frosting.
Notes
- For a chocolate twist, add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips to the filling before rolling.
- To make these rolls even more decadent, drizzle with a simple glaze made from powdered sugar and milk instead of cream cheese frosting.
