A delicious and easy-to-make Apple Pie Crumble that combines tender apples with a crunchy oat topping.

- 4 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced (about 4 cups)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, granulated sugar, and 1 tablespoon of flour. Toss until the apples are well coated.
- Pour the apple mixture into a greased 9-inch pie dish.
- In another bowl, mix the rolled oats, 1/2 cup flour, brown sugar, and salt. Stir in the melted butter until the mixture is crumbly.
- Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a twist, try adding 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the apple mixture for extra flavor.
- You can also substitute half of the apples with pears for a delicious variation.
- Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delightful dessert!
